Villa Sunset Modern is our Modern Luxury Beach House Vacation Rental - 5 bedroom, 4 bathrooms- a stunning oceanfront Sunset Cliffs home designed for the traveler seeking a memorable escape to modern luxury, spacious accommodation, brand new furnishings & appliances, private pool & hot tub, spacious outdoor patio and deck space, sweeping ocean views, and tasteful modern minimalist design.
This beautiful upscale home was designed with one primary inspiration- panoramic ocean views from every room. The main house has 4 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms and offers every amenity. Included is a Casita with one king bed and 1 queen bed. Loaded with top of the line amenities, this luxury home has a large private swimming pool &hot tub a huge oceanfront front deck, an outdoor shower, and a backyard kitchen and dining area perfect for outdoor entertaining.
Villa Sunset Modern is located directly across from Luscombs Point on Sunset Cliffs, famous for surfing, sunset viewing, and oceanfront wedding ceremonies. It is a 20 minute walk away from the eclectic cafes and shops of Ocean Beach, and a short drive to most of San Diego's most famous attractions.
Private Swimming Pool and Hot Tub--Optional pool/hot tub heat is $99 per night with a minimum number of nights equal to the length of your stay less one night. (A 7-night stay will have a minimum optional pool/hot tub heating fee of 6 nights X $99 = $594). Optional pool/hot tub heat at the rate of $99 per day is necessary to heat the in-ground hot tubs for those in-ground pools which have in-ground hot tubs attached to the swimming pools as is the case at Villa Sunset Modern and Villa Magnifica--as the swimming pool and the hot tub are on the same plumbing and heating system. At our other homes that have above-ground self-contained spas that are not attached to swimming pools like Cabo Hermosa and Villa Bermuda Beach there is no charge for heating the above ground hot tub at either home. Likewise, our Villa Mar Vista home has no charge for heating the above-ground self-contained hot tub as the $99 per day optional pool heat fee at Villa Mar Vista only heats the in-ground pool. So, if you desire free hot tub heating, please choose our homes with an above ground self-contained hot tub which is our Villa Mar Vista home, our Villa Bermuda Beach and our Cabo Hermosa homes.

Our family lives all over the US, so once a year we all get together for several days. This year was Sunset Cliffs, San Diego. Comfort, convenience and a casual atmosphere are the things that are very important to our family. This property was all that - and even more! The house has an beautiful, sleek design and the number of bedrooms (including a fully-equipped guest house) was perfect for us. Our family loves to cook together and enjoy each other's company while doing so. This home had the best spaces to do both! The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and baking (which is sometimes hard to find) and the outdoor kitchen included a wood-fired oven, which was a huge bonus for us!

Perfect house for a gathering of old friends from Alaska to Nebraska! Views cannot be beat and the space gave plenty of spots to connect together (massive front and back decks plus the pool and hot tub) with privacy provided in the 5 bedrooms. House is well stocked if cooking or grilling at home. Location was enough 'away' from the busier parts of town to feel peaceful and yet close enough to be within 10 minutes to most places we wanted to visit. Would certainly recommend it and would return on next trip.

Our family had the most wonderful stay at the Villa Sunset Modern in Sunset Cliffs. The location is prime, and the sunsets, cliffs, and views are magnificent. The outside living areas are enormous and resort-like. The house was very clean, and had everything we needed (including plenty of pool towels). The property and experience were exactly what we expected based on the prior reviews. We look forward to our next stay!

I am in full agreement with other reviews that the property management is very friendly, professional and responsive when something needed to be addressed. One instance involved a baby seagull that fell from its nest and we were all concerned about its welfare. Joseph called Sea World for us and they were very quick to rescue the little guy, which eased the hearts of the children in our group.

This particular location was ideal for our three-generation family, with enough space to afford people privacy when needed, but great for gathering together as well. The ocean views and gorgeous sunsets offset the minor things that could have been better. There is a great deal of street activity because its such a perfect spot for early morning surfers, joggers, dog walkers, weddings, etc., all enjoyable to watch from the amazing two-level deck. Our overall experience, was delightful and we are seriously thinking about returning next year.

Our host, Joseph, was awesome. He met us at check-in and helped with our grocery delivery that arrived before we did. Oops. He showed us around and helped us get acquainted with the property and how everything worked. I forgot how to work the pool temp so he quickly came over the next day to help me out. He was very attentive and willing to answer my questions and help with anything we needed.

The views are amazing. It is the prime spot on Sunset Cliffs. We saw a wedding or proposal every day. The sunsets are incredible and you can watch from inside the home or the front porch. We sat by the fire pit most nights to enjoy the sunsets. The home was perfect for our large family. Joseph was kind to accommodate all of us. The casita was a bonus. Everything worked well. The appliances are high end and the home is well appointed. Plenty of dishes and pots and pans, etc. You'll need your own spices but we expected that. The home was clean and ready for us to enjoy. The recommendations for local places to eat and shop were perfect. Phil's BBQ was fantastic. The pool was a favorite. We opted to heat it which was perfect because the spa/jacuzzi is attached to the pool. The kids loved being able to swim in and out of the spa. The home gets warm in the evenings because of the large windows. We just opened the doors and let the cool ocean breeze cool us off. There are fans as well if needed. Thanks for hosting us and sharing your beautiful ocean front home with us. Our kids and grandkids are still posting about the fun we had. We hope to return again. It was a perfect vacation.

Loved our stay! What a beautiful home. Such a wonderful place to rest and relax. House was lovely , perfect for our family. Great kitchen and amenities. Our kids had the best time in the swimming pool the yard was perfect place for them to play while we could just relax without worry. Loved the ocean breezes coming through the house. Cant beat this location. Amazing views over the Cliffs ..we enjoyed watching the waves in the evening & the sunsets really are to die for. Joseph and Jan were very helpful hosts. Very responsive, gave great recommendations for food and things to do in the area. We especially appreciate them accommodating us last minute!! Would certainly come back!

This is the ultimate beachside escape! Wide wide West-facing views and amazing sunsets. Convivial fire-pit, a lot of various al fresco dining zones, and right across from a couple of great surf breaks. The pool and jacuzzi area is safe, fully fenced and beautifully landscaped. Inside this architecturally interesting and generously proportioned house, the master suite allows you to lie in bed and feel like you are floating above the ocean. Thanks to the property manager for a hassle free check in and checkout experience, and lots of helpful local advice. We will be back!

1. I see you have a 4:00 pm check in time. Is it possible for me to get early check in?
A. Early check in is not always available. If the house is booked the night before you arrive, that means that there is a group leaving that morning at the 10:00 check out time and our cleaning crew starts working. Our cleaning crews are using the full 6 hours between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to clean the house, particularly with Covid protocols. Even if there is no group using the house the night before your arrival, that does not mean that early check in is available. We manage several houses and have cleaning crews working at different properties at different times, there may be maintenance being performed, etc. If early check in is available, the fees are as follows:

12:00 p.m. -- $300
1:00 p.m. -- $225
2:00 p.m. -- $150

A. Just like early check in, late check out is not always available. 3. I see in your rental contract that the house has quiet hours, does that apply to my group?
We welcome people to share this home and to experience the fantastic location and views as well as the neighborhood and larger community. You should know that we are very serious about quiet hours (which includes use of the pool and hot tub) and respecting the quiet and peaceful ambience of the residential neighborhood. Please do not book this home if you are expecting to party late or loud. Quiet hours as well as excessive noise or disruption rules are enforced at all times. The neighbors will call us if a group is violating the rules.
