Watch the spectacular annual migration of the California Gray Whale from your oceanfront living room, den, kitchen and bedroom of Villa Magnifica. The entire family will love viewing the whales migratory trip past Point Loma as they travel to Baja California.Upon arrival you will enjoy the spacious rear entertainment area complete with an inviting swimming pool and raised Hot Tub. A comfortable living area around the pool area as well as two Oceanfront decks makes for an enjoyable vacation experience.
All six bedrooms as well as the den and the living room enjoy generous proportions. The den can act as a 7th bedroom, containing a queen sofa sleeper. The 4000-square-foot home is big enough to enable family reunion and corporate retreat groups to enjoy unfettered access to their sleeping accommodations without bumping into the others in your group who are spread throughout the rest of the house. The oversized 6th bedroom has two queen beds plus a sitting area with HDTV and an ensuite 6th bathroom.

Sunset Cliffs Nature Park at Your Door
Right outside your front door lies the 2-mile long oceanfront Sunset Cliffs Nature Park. Come enjoy the unspoiled beauty of Sunset Cliffs where joggers, walkers, hikers and bicyclists all enjoy the most unspoiled urban coastline in California. People in this neighborhood of spacious multi-million dollar homes share a friendly small town greeting as they pass one another to visit the beach, surf, boogeyboard or just to take a leisurely walk along the ocean.
Residents and visitors alike will say "hello" on your way to go antique shopping on Newport Avenue, visit dozens of shops and restaurants or perhaps just to try your luck on the West Coasts longest fishing pier. The friendly atmosphere of San Diego's finest small beach town will pleasantly surprise you.
Plenty of Room For All
Villa Magnifica faces west with a straight-on white water view of the magnificent Pacific Ocean. The 20-foot high cathedral ceilings are graced with walls of glass that frame the beautiful sunsets each evening. The living room, den and dining room are spacious for large groups and afford unparalleled whitewater views of the Pacific Ocean.
There is a large backyard seating area for even the largest groups to enjoy the balmy San Diego evenings by the pool. The proximity of the kitchen and the outdoor BBQ grill make indoor-outdoor living extremely inviting. The gas BBQ is near outdoor seating and tables for al fresco dining in the outdoor dining area.
Beyond the sitting area in the rear yard are the large swimming pool and the 7-person Hot Tub with waterfall.
Optional pool heat at the rate of $99 per day is necessary to heat the in-ground hot tubs for those inground pools which have in-ground hot tubs attached to the swimming pools at Villa Sunset Modern and Villa Magnifica--as the swimming pool and the hot tub are on the same plumbing and heating system. At our other homes that have above-ground self-contained spas that are not attached to swimming pools like Cabo Hermosa and Villa Bermuda Beach, there is no charge for heating the above-ground hot tub at either home. Likewise, our Villa Mar Vista home has no charge for heating the above-ground self-contained spa as the optional pool heat at Villa Mar Vista only heats the in-ground pool as there is no in-ground hot tub at Villa Mar Vista. So if you desire free hot tub heating please choose one of our homes with an above-ground self-contained hot tub at our Villa Mar Vista, Villa Bermuda Beach, or Cabo Hermosa homes.
Private Swimming Pool and Hot Tub--Optional pool/hot tub heat is $99 per night with a minimum number of nights equal to the length of your stay less one night. (A 7-night stay will have a minimum optional pool/hot tub heating fee of 6 nights X $99 = $594). Optional pool/hot tub heat at the rate of $99 per day is necessary to heat the in-ground hot tubs for those in-ground pools which have in-ground hot tubs attached to the swimming pools as is the case at Villa Sunset Modern and Villa Magnifica--as the swimming pool and the hot tub are on the same plumbing and heating system. At our other homes that have above-ground self-contained spas that are not attached to swimming pools like Cabo Hermosa and Villa Bermuda Beach there is no charge for heating the above ground hot tub at either home. Likewise, our Villa Mar Vista home has no charge for heating the above-ground self-contained hot tub as the $99 per day optional pool heat fee at Villa Mar Vista only heats the in-ground pool. So, if you desire free hot tub heating, please choose our homes with an above ground self-contained hot tub which is our Villa Mar Vista home, our Villa Bermuda Beach and our Cabo Hermosa homes.

My friends and I used this luxury Oceanside Point Loma property as our home base while we attended a conference in San Diego. It was ideal! The home had more space than we expected six bedrooms and four bathrooms which allowed each of us to enjoy our own room and bathroom. Though we had plenty of privacy, the home also had many comfortable central gathering points like the spacious kitchen, living room, and den. And the media fans of the group were not disappointed! The property was equipped with three Plasma HDTVs and five 32 to 50 LCD HDTVs.
One of the best things about this San Diego vacation rental was that it was located right on the beach! There was nothing better than returning from long days inside a conference room to this beautiful home. We sat on the front porch, protected from the wind by a glass enclosure, and stared out at our unobstructed Pacific Ocean view. One of my friends even thinks she caught a glimpse of a migrating California Gray Whale!
And when we got tired of staring at the surfers, the bogey boarding, and the walkers and joggers along the beach trail, we moved our small party to the villas backyard where there was a heated swimming pool and raised Jacuzzi spa. Can you say heaven?
To stretch our legs, we walked along Sunset Cliffs Nature Park, which meanders along the Pacific Ocean bordering the western edge of Point Loma. This gentle, peace-loving bear was ecstatic to see that the entire area is designated as a multiple species conservation area. Papa Bear could breathe freely, and relish the sights and sounds of the wildlife around us.
We loved San Diego, and we especially loved Villa Magnifica. If a San Diego beach vacation with a sizable group is in your future, I highly recommend this property. Owners Note : Media 2019 now includes 7 Big Screen TVs all with Roku and 1000mbs speed internet !!

For rental groups in excess of 14 persons, there is a per person charge of $70 per person per night applicable to guests number fifteen & sixteen for each night of the reservation. For example, if the rental rate is $1500 per night with a 4-night minimum then a group of 16 persons would have a rental rate of $6000 for the first 14 guests plus $280 for the 15th guest and $280 for the 16th guest for a total rental amount before taxes of $6560 for 4 nights.

1. I see you have a 4:00 pm check in time. Is it possible for me to get early check in?
A. Early check in is not always available. If the house is booked the night before you arrive, that means that there is a group leaving that morning at the 10:00 check out time and our cleaning crew starts working. Our cleaning crews are using the full 6 hours between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to clean the house, particularly with Covid protocols. Even if there is no group using the house the night before your arrival, that does not mean that early check in is available. We manage several houses and have cleaning crews working at different properties at different times, there may be maintenance being performed, etc. If early check in is available, the fees are as follows:
10:00 a.m. -- $450
11:00 a.m. -- $375
12:00 p.m. -- $300
1:00 p.m. -- $225
2:00 p.m. -- $150
3:00 p.m. -- $75

2. I see that check out is at 10:00 a.m., can we check out later?
A. Just like early check in, late check out is not always available. If you are checking out on a day that another group is arriving, then our cleaners will need every hour between your check out time and their arrival time to clean the house. Even if a group is not arriving that day, late check out may not be available for a number of other reasons. If late check out is available, the fees are as follows:

3. I see in your rental contract that the house has quiet hours, does that apply to my group?
We welcome people to share this home and to experience the fantastic location and views as well as the neighborhood and larger community. You should know that we are very serious about quiet hours (which includes use of the pool and hot tub) and respecting the quiet and peaceful ambience of the residential neighborhood. Please do not book this home if you are expecting to party late or loud. Quiet hours as well as excessive noise or disruption rules are enforced at all times. The neighbors will call us if a group is violating the rules.
